Findings:
There is marked thickening of the prevertebral soft tissues to approximately 3cm at the level of C3.
Impression:
Findings concerning for retropharyngeal abscess. The differential diagnosis also includes retropharyngeal cellulitis.
Recommendations:
For your training purposes, recommendations are not included in this report.
Acuity
Urgent: non-routine communication within 4 hours
The ordering clinician should be notified of these findings.
