Findings & Impressions
Findings:
LOWER THORAX: Normal.
GI TRACT: There is dilation of the appendix to 8 mm. There is surrounding periappendiceal fat stranding. There is no evidence of perforation or abscess. There is no free air.
HEPATOBILIARY: No focal hepatic lesions. Normal gallbladder. No biliary ductal dilatation.
PANCREAS: No focal masses or ductal dilatation.
SPLEEN: No splenomegaly.
ADRENALS: No adrenal nodules.
KIDNEYS/URETERS: No hydronephrosis, stones, or solid mass lesions.
PELVIC ORGANS/BLADDER: Normal.
PERITONEUM / RETROPERITONEUM: No free air or fluid.
LYMPH NODES: No lymphadenopathy.
VESSELS: Normal.
BONES AND SOFT TISSUES: Normal.
Impression:
There is dilation of the appendix with surrounding fat stranding. There is no abscess and there is no perforation. These findings are consistent with acute uncomplicated appendicitis.
