Exam
CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis with IV contrast.

Findings & Impressions
Findings:
There is a dilated cecum in the left upper quadrant with swirled bowel loops in the right lower quadrants. There is no pneumoperitoneum. The patient’s IUD has migrated to the cervix.
Impression:
Cecal volvulus and IUD migration to the cervix.
Recommendations:

Acuity
Urgent: non-routine communication within 4 hours
The ordering clinician should be notified of these findings.
