Findings & Impressions
Findings:
There is a soft tissue defect along the plantar aspect of the left heel. There is increased T2 signal and decreased T1 signal in the calcaneal tuberosity, consistent with osteomyelitis. There is also linear T1 and T2 hypointensity in this region, consistent with a nondisplaced pathologic fracture. There is a thickened central cord of the plantar fascia with intense internal fluid signal, suggesting fasciitis with tear. There is also a peroneus brevis split tear.
Impression:
Calcaneal tuberosity osteomyelitis with an associated nondisplaced pathologic fracture. There is also plantar fasciitis with tear and a peroneus brevis split tear.
