Findings & Impressions
Findings:
There are multiple distended loops of small bowel with a transition point in a right inguinal hernia. The bowel loops are thickened with adjacent inflammatory changes suggesting strangulation. There are multifocal airspace opacities, likely secondary to aspiration pneumonia considering the fluid filled esophagus and distended stomach. There is a small pericardial effusion. There is cholelithiasis without cholecystitis. There are multiple right sided simple renal cysts. There is a 3.2x2.5cm left inferior renal pole peripherally calcified hematoma. The prostate is mildly calcified.
Impression:
: Small bowel obstruction secondary to strangulated right inguinal hernia resulting in aspiration pneumonia.
