Findings & Impressions
Findings:
The free edge of the epiglottis is thickened and is as wide as it is tall. There also is thickening of the aryepiglottic folds. The subglottic airway is normal. There are no radiopaque foreign bodies.
Impression:
Acute epiglottitis.

Acuity
Emergent: non-routine communication required immediately or within 30 minutes
Emergent. The clinician should be immediately notified of the findings.
