Findings & Impressions
Findings:
There is a sigmoid volvulus with an 8.0 cm dilated sigmoid colon, mild colonic wall thickening, and small volume free fluid throughout the lower abdomen and pelvis, but no pneumatosis or free air. There is dependent bilateral lower lobe atelectasis. The bones and soft tissues show chronic deformity in the sacrococcygeal region with no acute osseous abnormalities.
Impression:
Findings consistent with sigmoid volvulus and obstruction, accompanied by mild colonic wall thickening and adjacent inflammatory changes.
