Case Notes
History
38 yo male with recent history of PRES w/ seizure and acute hypertension. Now undergoing f/up MR weeks later to evaluate for sequelae.Exam
MR susceptibility (SWI)
Prior Study
MR T1-w pre contrast1. Subtle residual post PRES cortical swelling with sulcal effacement in both occipital and posterior parietal areas.
MR T2 spin echo sequence
1. Very subtle sulcal effacement from residual cortical and right hippocampal swelling post PRES event weeks earlier.
MR flair
1. MR flair more clearly illustrates the residual (post PRES) cortical swelling involving the posterior parietal, occipital cerebrum and outer cerebellar parenchyma bilaterally. It also demonstrates residual edema in the right hippocampus producing subtle local mass effect (right anterior temporal horn stretching).
