History
A 7 months old male with the symptom of chronic constipation.Exam
FLUORO GI LOWER BARIUM W/WATER SOLUABLE. Contrast enema of the colon. A 10 French pediatric feeding tube was placed into the rectum and secured with tape. Barium contrast was introduced into the rectum and sigmoid colon. There was no filling of the transverse colon with contrast due to large amounts of stool in the dilated sigmoid colon. The decision was made to abort the procedure at this point because of the high resistance to contrast injection. Pediatric surgeon was available at the time of the procedure. A four hour KUB film can be obtained, post-procedure.
