MR susceptibility (SWI)
The recent hemorrhages in the right dorsal thalamus and left deep cerebellum are evident with little or no blooming, indicating these hemorrhages are recent.
There are multicentric (at least 10 sites) of bilateral punctate cerebral parenchymal chronic microhemorrhage sites and a mid pontine and right caudal cerebellar chronic microhemorrhages. Finding are consistent with chronic hypertensive encephalopathy. In this context the acute hemorrhages are also consistent with a recent hypertensive exacerbation as the cause for the acute hemorrhages.
MR SWI also demonstrates the bilateral occipital horn and trigones blood products.
