History
A 47-year-old female in the emergency room with headache, mastoid region tenderness and fever, with left facial weakness. The study is done to look for evidence of coalescent or otherwise complicated mastoiditis as a cause for these symptoms. CT study same date failed to show reason for facial nerve weakness; study done to evaluate reason for that specific physical finding.Exam
MRI: Anatomically focused, using a specific 7th nerve protocol, including axial and coronal images through the temporal bone region and posterior fossa including T1, T2 and diffusion weighted acquisitions done with and without gadolinium contrast enhancement and, when indicated, MRV.
