Findings & Impressions
Findings:
There is a hangman’s fracture at C2 with mild focal kyphosis at C2-C3. There is minimal anterolisthesis of C2 on C3. There is widening of the left C2-C3 facet joint, suggestive of ligamentous injury. In addition, there is asymmetry between the dens and the lateral masses of C1 with slight rightward offset of the C1 lateral masses in relation to C2. The fracture does not extend into the transverse foramina. There is no evidence of an epidural hematoma, though this evaluation is limited on this non-contrast CT.
Impression:
C2 Hangman’s fracture with ligamentous injury.
