Findings & Impressions
Findings:
The endotracheal and oral enteric tubes are in place.
There is straightening of the cervical lordosis. There is vertebral body compressive deformity at the level of C7. There are bilateral jumped and locked facets at C6-C7.
There is an acute fracture through the transverse plane of the C7 vertebral body with anterior subluxation of the upper endplate of C7 on the lower C7 fracture fragments
There is displacement of a small osseous fragment from the C7 vertebral body into the prevertebral soft tissues. There are acute minimally displaced fractures of the spinous processes of C5 and C6. There is moderate-severe traumatic cervical canal narrowing at the level C6-C7.
Edema, with likely hematoma and small open laceration in the cervical paraspinal soft tissues.
There is hypodensity in the right greater than left cervical paraspinal muscles concerning for edema versus intramuscular hematoma. Possible tiny right apical pneumothorax.
Impression:
Acute fracture through the C7 vertebral body with bilateral jumped facets at C6-C7 resulting in anterior subluxation of C6 over C7. This results in severe spinal canal stenosis at C6-7 with high probability of spinal cord injury.
Acute minimally displaced fractures of the C5, and C6 spinous processes.
Possible tiny right apical pneumothorax.
