Findings & Impressions
Findings:
There are numerous white matter lesions in the corpus callosum, periventricular white matter, juxtacortical white matter, left frontal high convexity, left insula, left posterior limb of the internal capsule, and right superior frontal gyrus. Some of the lesions demonstrate thick peripheral incomplete enhancement and diffusion restriction mainly in the bilateral frontal lobes, left insular lobe, and posterior limb of the left internal capsule.
There is a mucous retention cyst in the right maxillary sinus.
Impression:
New, enhancing, actively demyelinating lesions in a background of chronic white matter lesions. This is consistent with a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis with disease progression.
Recommendations:
For your training purposes, recommendations are not included in this report.
