Findings & Impressions
Findings:
Enlarged mediastinal and left hilar lymph nodes.
The esophagus is dilated with fluid.
Minimal coronary atherosclerosis.
Consolidation in the left lower lobe with air bronchograms. Minimal patchy interstitial and airspace infiltrates in the posterior aspect of the left upper lobe. Mild to moderate left pleural effusion with enhancement and thickening of the visceral and parietal pleura.
Mild splenomegaly.
Impression:
Consolidation of the left lower lobe with air bronchograms consistent with pneumonia. There is also a left pleural effusion with thickened and enhancing visceral and parietal pleura suggesting a complicated parapneumonic effusion or empyema.
