Findings & Impressions
Findings:
The large bowel is significantly dilated. This is secondary to a colonic obstruction with bowel wall thickening and structuring at the high rectum. There is also mesorectal adenopathy. Mild distal abdominal aorta atherosclerosis. There is a compression deformity at the L1 vertebral body’s superior endplate, which may be acute or subacute. There are stable postsurgical changes to L4-L5 with a posterior lumbar fusion.
Impression:
Colonic obstruction secondary to bowel wall thickening and stricturing at the high rectum with mesorectal adenopathy. These findings are highly suggestive of rectal adenocarcinoma.
